I have had the pleasure of working with and knowing Fred for many years. Our business relationship escalated to a high level from 2008 - 2011 when we asked Fred to consult our company in developing and maintaining a business plan for the International Engineering and Manufacturing headquarters in North America. I was CEO/President of the North American operations at that time. He worked with us (both domestically and reporting directly to the CEO and CFO of the international headquarters located in Germany as well). We focused on the current and upcoming calendar years budgeting, personnel, capacity planning, currency exchange (prediction and actual adjustment) plus year end preparations. Fred worked with us on budget development in parallel to theoretical sales forecasting was (and will always be in a start up company). This presented a challenge that required a constant, detailed need for continual adjustment. Once a history is developed that provides sales and market trends in the relative country then the frequency in the need for adjustments declined. The only reason the level decreased in working with Fred: History was developed resulting in more accurate forecasting. Budgets became more accurate and the plan took shape. In addition there was a qualified person on staff (Sue Busse) that Fred worked with in order to transition himself out of the day to day. Ultimately the business planning as well. Ultimately Sue not only replaced Fred within the company she currently hold the Division Director spot for North America for that International company. As Fred says it: " When I work myself out of a job in some ways it defines success". I should note the time period in which Fred worked with our team was during the worst economic times in recent history. Fred made himself available to myself and my staff based on the company needs. Fred also worked with our team in the implementation of two software packages used in different capacities over time: Made 2 Manage - ERP and Quick Books. With creative team work we were all able to satisfy the needs of our company and also our customers needs as well. Not only do I hold Fred in high regard professionally I look to him as a mentor and example of what a Christian man should be.
