Fred has the keen ability to understand and drill down to the core of complicated issues, find great solutions and communicate them beautifully. He understands and advocates for the perspective of our customers and users and has an in-depth understanding of monetization business models, online advertising solutions, product and engineering. I had the great privilege of hearing him speak at the New York SES conference, and could see how he captured the audience. He clearly and concisely spoke to their interests and handled confrontational questioning without being defensive or diverting the issues.

Fred is also an incredible photographer. He captures wonderful candid portraits and has covered a number of important events at Google.

I've worked with Fred on various AdWords launches, and frequently some of the more complex and/or user sensitive launches. Fred was always great at resolving product development needs and escalating issues on behalf of the user/customer, as well as "translating" that need in a way that both communications folks (marketing, technical and help documentation) and engineering teams could understand.

He also has a charming and friendly way of working that make processing these needs more pleasant, because sometimes the list of things wrong is just long ... but you get through it faster with the right attitude and working relationships with your cross-function teams.
