With over 22 years of experience Mr. Robles has served in many roles including CEO, CTO, Board member, Board Secretary and Vice President. He is a widely recognized Entrepreneur and thought leader in the IT and Communications industry with a depth of hands-on practical experience seldom found.
As CEO of NanoSpace Mr. Robles defined the Metropolitan Gigabit Ethernet networking market and architecture. He then went on to complete the first deployments of Metro Ethernet over Fiber services. It was thought and considered by most at the time that such deployments were simply impossible at any scale. Mr Robles and Peter Kaminski at NanoSpace were the first to do so commercially in 1998 and it was very successful. By 2000 Mr. Robles’s efforts were recognized by the industry and his peers and he was awarded the Most Innovative CLEC Infrastructure Award at Interop. NanoSpace became Yipes and was recognized with many awards. Mr. Robles lead the deployment of his solution building out over 36,000 miles of metro fiber networks, 186 data center POPs and over 600 building entry laterals. In 2007 Yipes was purchased by Reliance Communications for $300M. This solution revolutionized the communications marketplace and his Metropolitan Gigabit Ethernet architecture has since been duplicated all around the world with an annual market size in service revenue in the tens of Billions and over $12 Billion in annual equipment sales.
Mr. Robles is currently leading various consulting projects via Robles Industries as well as working on personal projects in the areas of Big Data and Internet Security.
