I help teams solve tough, open-ended design problems - like transforming an idea into a first prototype, finding and addressing the root cause of churn/abandonment, visualizing complex data, and how to best integrate design into their development cycles. When we chat, I'll listen to where you're at, where you want to be, and make actionable recommendations to help you get there, like design changes, potential features, and research approaches.
With over a decade of experience working with startups like HubSpot, CustomMade, and BitSight Technologies, I've had experience doing design and product management for B2B/enterprise and B2C companies, and have designed for SaaS platforms, web, and mobile. I've worked in a variety of industries, including cybersecurity, online dating, games, energy efficiency, and ecommerce - and one of my favorite parts of my job is learning about new topics and audiences every day.
I take pride in doing fast, excellent work and staying focused - and I guarantee that I won't waste your time. I also know a lot of amazing [dev, design, marketing, finance, ops] consultants, and try to connect folks with the help they need whenever possible. Frankly, I'm here because I love helping entrepreneurs achieve their goals. In my spare time, I offer workshops and office hours at incubators like MassChallenge and TechStars, teach design at Startup Institute, and advise a college student-run startup, Campus Insights. I also recently published a video course with O'Reilly Media, teaching the basics of user research and usability testing (http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920042211.do).
