Clean and Sober from drugs and alcohol addiction and abuse since 2022. I have personal experience with using nearly all of the most commonly abused substances, and lived amongst a family history of drugs and alcohol as well. Several members of my family and countless close friends of mine have succumbed to the disease of addiction, and lost their lives as a result. I have a long history of attending treatment centers of all kinds, in pursuit of an abstinent lifestyle. in recovery, I ended up the manager of a sober living facility in Massachusetts, and briefly worked as a case manager in that role, assisting actively using or early recovering addicts, in whatever their needs were at that time.
I also have an equally diverse and experienced background in mental health issues. As someone who has been diagnosed with Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD, (traumatic sexual and emotional abuse history) I certainly qualify in understanding how difficult living, and enjoying life, can be for people like us. My belief is that the best help sometimes comes from those who understand what it is we go through, every day. Ive been on a variety of commonly prescribed medications, hospitalized at psychiatric facilities, and learned and benefited from coping skills, shown to me by doctors and therapists from Boston's, Mass General Hospital.
Ive also been out as a gay male for over 10 years now, and have thorough experience with the LGBTQ+ scene, especially how it relates to mental health and addiction struggles. I know how important it Is to relate to someone who gets it!
Fortunately, for the last 2 years, I've been fully able to regulate mental and emotional triggers. This has helped me find a solid routine for myself, effectively laying the foundation, for a healthy, happy, and sustainable life. I'm not a professional with a degree, but Ive learned that the best help I received, came from those who were just like me, and found a new way to live. It would be my pleasure, to be able to take part in the recovery journey's of others!
Thanks for the opportunity!
