Senior Medtech/Biotech executive, holds a doctoral degree in Bioorganic Chemistry from the University of Padova, Italy. He started his scientific career as Fogarty Fellow at the National Institute of Arthritis, Diabetes and Digestive Diseases (NIADDK) and later as Visiting Associate at the National Cancer Institute (NCI, NIH, Bethesda, MD, USA), dealing with proteomic approaches to cancer. Later he joined the industrial biotech sector, managing research projects on the development of biopharmaceuticals (monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, peptides) in many therapeutic areas, including cancer, autoimmune and viral diseases. He has been Adjunct Professor of Molecular Biology at the University of Bologna and International Advisor for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to promote technology transfer. Founded and managed a biotech company in personalized oncology, raised funds by private/institutional investors and granting agencies, achieved market access for innovative medical devices, managing all phases from product discovery/clinical validation to registration/HTA/reimbursement. He extended products’ registration in other countries by identifying and managing distributors. He is recognized peer-to peer by high profile KOL in clinical/research settings due to his scientific/clinical achievements. He has developed excellent communication and presentation skills with more than 110 podium presentations at national/international events.
