I am a Senior Web Developer with over 20 years of programming experience and over 15 in the industry. My areas of expertise include RoR, Django, PHP (and the numerous frameworks) and others. I also have many years of experience with jQuery, Javascript, and CSS. I am also proficient in HTML5, CSS3 and Responsive Design. All in all, I am hybrid of front and back end developer/designer.
I began programming at age 11. Due to my comfort in the backend I remained focused there for quite some time, until the front end was more than just a “pretty face.” In the last 10 years or so I have focused more on the front end, UX/UI and understanding the strategic points in design. I have spent my career learning and evolving with technology. I use a variety of sources for staying up to date with technology. I'm a life long learner by nature- ever curious, always wanting to improve- and I often can get lost in discovery- and then putting what I discovered to use.
I have been working as a consultant/contractor for many years from my own home office, which is fully equipped. In this realm I have also led, assembled and worked with a number of teams, both large and small. Tools such as Basecamp and Jira (among others) were essential to making this work, and work well. I have had the pleasure of working with every kind of business, from small start-ups to multi-national corporations.
