MenuComprehensive Brand Development
Created 11 years ago in Sales & Marketing / Branding
Most people hear the word "Branding" and think it's a graphic design project or a logo redesign. That's not even phase one or even scratching the surface to the opportunity that exists with branding or rebranding your organization. Comprehensive Brand Development includes unifying stakeholder perspectives (senior management, employees, board members/owners, members or customers) as a first stage. I generally say: "If you had it to do all over again TODAY, what would you want your organization to be like?". The reality with branding is that you can do just that. you can reinvent yourself and make your self new again. Now, it is a process and a big one. There is a methodology to doing it right, but when done right" "OH. WOW!" I have seen organizations on the verge of collapse truly turn into a Phoenix. Branding really is at the core of who I am and what I do. If you want to best utilize my talents in a high value way that benefits your organization, it's well worth us talking.

Over my career, I have written over a dozen business plans, consulted over 100 businesses in regards to marketing and general business strategy, have brought over two dozen products to market, have marketed close to two dozen financial institutions, am a regular speaker at regional and national credit union conferences and have even created close to a dozen new "products" for the credit union industry (i.e. New Revenue Streams). Here's a quick top line of my career: I've been drawing since I was 2 and selling since I was 12...so marketing has been a perfect way to amalgamate my talents. My marketing experience has included: • At 19, I was the first advertising director of a startup college newspaper, the FSView (selling, setting advertising policies, managing sales staff and even developing ads for clients). Our efforts put the previous 78 year old on-campus paper out of business in just 5 years of our paper operating. A college newspaper has a definite ceiling, so I decided to take advantage of the experience and "edge" I had on others my age upon graduating from Florida State University. • At 21, Being the youngest account rep ever at AK/Media in Miami. Over my two year tenure I doubled billings and managed accounts including Sandals Resorts, Air Jamaica, Roadhouse Grill and Reebok. It was there that I expanded my knowledge of the media and built an extensive network of seasoned marketing mentors at major agencies including CPB Miami. • At 24, I attained my goal to one day have my own marketing firm. That opportunity came in 1997, when I moved back to Tallahassee to be a partner in ThinkCreative as VP of New Business and Account Service. Under my tenure, our new business successes included many in my banking/credit union niche: Alabama Credit Union, BankOne, BankAtlantic, Community First Credit Union, Coosa Pines Credit Union, First USA, First Commerce Credit Union, IBM Southeast Credit Union, League of Southeastern Credit Unions, Orlando Federal Credit Union, Patriot Federal Credit Union, the Virginia Credit Union League as well as other passion clients like Black & Decker, Boat US and Chris Craft Boats. What I take the most pride in is the length of these relationships - our average client/agency relationship exceeded 5 years. • At 40, I just attained another of my goals...building a business to the point I could cash out ; ) In February 2013, I sold my portion of ThinkCreative to my business partner and joined The Pod Advertising as a Principal and Chief Marketing Officer with the goal of tripling the firms billings in under 2 years and taking the credit union/banking industry by storm!! In my first year on board, we already have added 5 new credit union clients to the agency roster and have expanded our footprint outside of the southeast and into the northeast as well.

Brian is the consummate "idea man." He starts with an idea, creates a vision, and then turns it into reality. No one I have ever worked with can generate excitement for a project the way Brian can. He is imaginative, engaging, and brings a "freshness" to each project that is incomparable. I have had the pleasure to work with Brian on several endeavours over the past three years, and I have always been very impressed with his attitude, abilities and passion. I will continue to work with him whenever the opportunity arises. You really could not choose a better individual to help you realize your vision than Brian.
Source: LinkedIn private private Feb 3, 2014I've worked with Brian in several different capacities and have found him to be full of positive energy which has translated into plugging clients back into their own businesses and getting them excited about possibilities with out of the box ideas AND the ability to help them put the processes in place to move forward. He is definetly an expert in his field (which frankly is hard to define since I know no one who really does what he does at his level) and I look forward to working with him forever. I give recommendations very infrequently but would recommend him to any and everyone.

He has a solution for every problem and implements strategies that produce success, on time and under budget. Moreover, he gives back to his community by volunteering his talents to several non-profit organizations. His winning smile and can-do spirit is contagious. In short, he works magic.
Source: LinkedIn Sheila Costigan Feb 3, 2014After talking with Brian for just a few minutes, you'll know he's a quick thinker and meticulous strategist -- the kind of person who consistently finds new ways to solve old problems. Unfortunately for competitor agencies, he's also got people skills to boot.
Source: LinkedIn Michael Calienes Feb 3, 2014Brian was my first "real" boss for my internship and job in and right out of college. He had the patience, and sense of humor to adhere to young professionals and honed my strengths into a real professional career! He is still my mentor, and to this day, I have not made a career move without his consulting. He is a PLEASURE to work with and I can't wait to work for Brian again when I decide to settle back in Tallahassee.
