As the creator of the C'est Chic Crash Course, I help women think like a stylist and rule their own personal chic with my step-by-step style mentoring system based on my three decades in the style industry.
As a leading New York fashion stylist my work ran the gambit from styling Vogue covers with major jewels and couture clothes to making polyester sweats look great in ads so that you would actually want to wear them. Somewhere in between, I also styled catalogs and ads for top department stores, big name brands, magazine editorials, and the de rigeur celebrity and supermodel.
I got into styling because I felt a boost in my self-confidence when I dressed well and wanted to share that with other women rather than the fantasy that I was creating on the set...
... because my heart is with the everyday woman, like you and me.
So I brought my behind the scenes insider tips and tricks to women everywhere with my Focus on Style fashion advice column on the Scripps Howard News Service that was distributed to 400 newspapers each week.
The print column in combination with my B.B.A. degree in Marketing and entrepreneurial spirit lead the way for bootstrapping FocusOnStyle.com, now in its 16th year online, as your online style guide to can-do chic.... way before the job description "fashion blogger" was ever coined.
All this has brought me a wealth of opportunities including starring in my own national Macy's TV commercial (it was a stadium sized green screen studio and Zoe Saldana was in the same campaign series). I've been featured in an anthology lifestyle book alongside other writers like President Jimmy Carter and Gloria Steinem.
As a fashion and style expert, I have been featured in probably hundreds of television, radio, print, and online media outlets such as Real Simple, CNN.com, Martha Stewart Radio, Oprah.com, ELLE magazine, WeightWatchers.com, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, WebMD, Disney Family.com... the list goes on from the first time I was a guest on The Joe Franklin Show, back in the day talking about old Hollywood glamour.
I guess it's fair to say... I have a well-versed background.
