Sam's contribution as a volunteer (ProBono) Media Co-ordinator for the Jimmy Wales event in Bristol (Celebrating the 10th Birthday of Wikipedia 15/01/11) was invaluable. His technical & media expertise laid the ground for a number of ideas for the event that i wished to create - making my wishes possible. He played a key role on the video/recording side of all matters to do with the event. His view on the way to maximise the impact of Bristol City Council's LiveWebcast was priceless - as we got the best out of them as a result. His suggestions about a posterous website as a collection/database for coverage proved invaluable too - as this enabled us to have a record of a fast paced day. His input was a critical factor in the success of the day. This Posterous site (to date) gained over 1,500 visitors +more during the week after it took place, and the hash-tag #wp10 became one of the UK’s most popular search terms on Twitter at the time of the event.
