MenuAre There Any New Short-Video Platforms Worth Trying?
With TikTok setting the standard for short-form videos, I’ve been wondering are there any new platforms that offer something different? Some creators say they want better reach, less algorithm interference, or even new ways to monetize their content.
Have any of you tried newer alternatives? If so, what features made you stick around?
Answers
Yes, there are several new short-video platforms emerging that cater to creators looking for better reach, less algorithm interference, or new monetization options. A few worth exploring are:
Clapper: A creator-driven platform focusing on community engagement, with less algorithmic influence and more organic reach.
Triller: A music-centric platform where creators can make stylized videos, and it offers monetization opportunities through live streaming.
Zigazoo: A positive, kid-friendly platform that’s expanding into general short-form content, promoting safe and creative interactions.
Byte (now part of Clash): Built by a Vine co-founder, it emphasizes short, looping videos with a focus on creator payments.
Lomotif: A growing platform that’s popular for its music and collaborative video features, giving creators room to experiment.
Features that tend to keep creators hooked include better revenue sharing models, direct audience interaction, and algorithm transparency. If monetization is a key goal, platforms with tipping, subscriptions, or brand partnership tools can be game-changers!

How can I publish an Apple app under my sole proprietorship?
Hi, I had an entrepreneur ask me this same question recently. Based on the information Apple Provides you can definitely enroll with a DUNS number. There is a difference in the process of enrollment but both sole Proprietors and Organizations can enter. Here's a quote directly from Apples on business procedure. "Sole proprietors/single person businesses can review the license agreement and purchase a membership at the time of enrollment. Organizations can review the license agreement and purchase a membership once Apple Developer Support verifies the enrollment information and sends an email with next steps. You can check the status of your enrollment in your account on the developer website. Be sure to sign in with the Apple ID you used to enroll." Hope this helps. Feel free to request a call with me, I wouldn't mind helping you analyze the situation so we can streamline you on your way to the answers you need.JL

What tools to send push notifications and in-app messages do you use? Which engagement type works better?
I think push vs in-app are two different things, like email and telephone call. Push reaches people who are not using your app, but require OS-level permission. In-app gives you much more flexibility but they only reach people who are using your app (obviously!). As to whether in-house or external SDK is best, it depends what you are trying to do and whether an external system handles it. For a typical retail environment the SDKs might be easiest--it's a well-established use-case. For something needing a more customized algorithm, an in-house system might work as well as an external SDK (for less money). There are simple options to save you from starting completely from scratch, from PHP toolkits to Amazon SNS. It depends on what (if any) server environment you have... Hope that helps!RF

How should I hire an app developer?
First, you need to consult with someone who understands the complexity of the app that you request it. This person can be your friends who have background in CS or IT. Usually, people usually hire some freelancer or developer team and you pay it hourly. Once finished, you can just ask those team to migrate the ownership to you and hire some freshgrads in computer to just do maintenance of your app. you can check https://www.freelancer.com/.HH
