MenuWhat platform does clarity use for autogenerated emails? Should we be building that content and have that setup within our app programming?
We are currently using mailchimp and signed up for their integration partner Mandrill, I love how clarity has such a personal touch with each added question, we are bootstrapping, but does it make sense to add the email workflow into the programming from the start? We are working in a corporate git with CTO team. How does your programmer access the automated content? Can you set that up through a git hub wiki?

You could ask Vincent http://clarity.fm/vincentroy if you have anything further to discuss.. but here's the short version.
We built custom code for all our trigger emails & notifications, and use www.sendgrid.com for SMTP API. We looked at others, but I'm friends with the founder at SendGrid and like them personally.
For free, you can use Google Mail api (if you send less then 500 messages per day I believe). It's simple / and gets great deliverability.
Hope that helps.
P.S. The emails I write, hence the personal feelings .. it actually comes from me.

What is the most effective way to store emails prelaunch?
My first question is, how did you get these email addresses? If they physically entered them, simply store them in an encrypted spreadsheet or database for importing into a platform. Of course, the best method is utilizing an email service to initially collect those addresses.PH

What are the most reputable email verification vendors? How crucial is this step in email marketing?
Do you have an idea of what kind of invalid emails you are receiving? That will help you determine which vendor is the best fit for you. For example do you consider support@, info@, or postmaster@ invalid, some vendors will weed those out for you? Or are you just concerned with making sure the email has an accurate Domain/MX Record? Will blocking SPAM IP addresses be enough to address your needs, if so you need a vendor who checks agains URI DNSBLs. With that in mind, here's a good blog article about the top vendors. Best wishes! https://www.formget.com/best-email-verification-services/NP

How do I manage and automate auto responders and customer communication with Capsule, Mailchimp and Freshbooks?
You need to think about these auto-responders in terms of events. If you can put data up on MailChimp when an event takes place, you can manage auto-responders off of that data. Here is some additional information from their website. http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-do-i-create-an-autoresponderJM

What would cause messages from my new email address to go to some recipients junk folder? It's a new domain name. Anything I can do on my end?
I have a tremendous amount of experience sending emails from new domains - perhaps 2,000,000 emails per year - and the long and short of it is this: email deliverability is tremendously complex. Why? For one thing, because of the constant battle between spammers, ISPs, ESPs and other players, among other things. Also, because email still uses some very old and outdated protocols that make this all more difficult. If your business is going to rely heavily on email, I would encourage to educate yourself now so that you won't be stymied as you grow. Many of the things I learned were through trial and error - which can be excruciatingly frustrating. Just a few of the things you should immediately begin working on: proper SPF, SenderID, DKIM compliance along with solid DNS set up. Additionally, if you will use email heavily, I would start now putting the pieces in place for later white labeling aa nd possible dedicated IP sending. In terms of the actual email content itself, that is another subject you will want to investigate. I'm not saying these things to discourage you - but rather to help you avoid the mistakes we made in the past. If you need a hand getting a little grip on this I probably can steer you in the right direction pretty quickly. Wish you the best in your endeavor! AdamAB
