MenuEbay buying how to protect me?
I want to buy very expensive grand piano in ebay,
seller said no return. I am far away not able to pick up.
I also need to find carrier pay extra shipping, so many things could happen. I don't think I can rely on Ebay.
How to protect myself, your suggestion?
Answers
Buy Local. Go with your gut. Ebay can only do so much to assist but you might get in touch with support for Ebay and ask them if you purchase it what is the guarantee. If the purchase itself does not have purchase protection I would forego the risk if youre not comfortable.
YOU PAY UPON DELIVERY
Purchase locally on ebay from a well reviewed and reputed seller, look for suspicious keywords or phrases, ensure that your ebay account follows cyber safety rules (ex. you have a fool proof password, use multifactor authentication).

What are the best marketing strategies for an online business with a limited budget selling antiques and collectibles?
I think you're on the right track with the likes of eBay, Instagram, and Etsy. Those sites have established communities interested in what you have to offer. That said, each of those platforms have different optimization techniques to reach the right audience. For example, using proper hashtags on Instagram will likely result in increased traffic. Spending some money on Etsy's pay-per-click ads will result in fresh, targeted traffic. I've helped brands around the world increase their reach through optimization with varying budgets. I don't believe in "one-size-fits-all" approaches, as each market has a unique audience, product, and seller (you) - those are important considerations before launching any type of sales campaign. I'd be happy to schedule a call with you to discuss more in detail. -ShaunSN

How much of a work day should be unique problem solving and what percentage is simply tasks such as following up?
It depends on your charter or mission as well as your long term vs. Short term objectives. If your mission involves a larger more expansive view - then you will need to spend a lot more time on unique problem solving that has a strong potential ROI feeding the fulfillment of the mission. It kind of boils down to ROI (return on investment) vs. risk for me: I look at the ROI and risk (opportunity cost) for almost everything that I choose to do - this helps me compare various choices for what to focus on daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. Having clear objectives for the month, week and year also help in selecting what percentage of time as per your question. If the solution of this problem feeds the fulfillment of your objectives vs. the solution of this problem prevents a risky situation: that may be the question to answer. I hope this helps. Feel free to interact so that I can delve into the complexities and nuances that are inevitably there.SB

How do you source eBay resellers?
I was an eBay trading assistant and they still have them. What you can do is access the eBay trading assistant program on eBay.com. The page lets you search for eBay resellers in your local geographic area, but better, you don't have to pay them 50/50. The eBay trading assistants usually make between 25 and 37%, so don't feel like you need to pay them 50%. I hope this helps. I would be glad to take you through the program if you are interested. What are the best practices for developing a hardware product without resources or skills?
You need some sort of functional prototype (i.e. something that actually, in some way, does what you want it to do). Nobody will invest without one. You said you're too low on funds to have one built, so my best advice would be to spend some time learning the skills needed to build it yourself. You could for instance take free online electronics courses that MIT provides: https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-002-circuits-and-electronics-spring-2007/ or buy books, watch youtube videos, etc. I've built my own hardware prototypes for two of my own startups, and also helped build prototypes for others through Clarity. Let me know if you'd like advice more tailored to your specific idea (e.g. the kinds of microcontrollers and motor controllers that might work, etc.) best, LeeLV

How can I get a prototype built with little or no funding?
There's no reason GE Aviation, or anyone, would be excited about your "idea for a hoverboard", or give you credit in any way, because you yourself say that you can't contribute anything to the project intellectually, financially, or otherwise, and the idea itself is not a new one. The idea was popularized in the 1989 movie Back to the Future Part II, and there are currently several people using their own skills to try to make commercially viable hoverboards (e.g. https://youtu.be/588du55BcAY?t=463 and https://youtu.be/588du55BcAY?t=31 and https://youtu.be/588du55BcAY?t=110) So your only real option is either to learn the skills to create a prototype yourself, or to have some insightful, patented idea on a unique approach, or to have enough money to pay someone else to do all that for you.LV
