MenuHow many individual SKUs should I have to open my online home decor boutique?
This question has no further details.
Answers
There is no minimum. The answer doesn't lie with how large your product catalogue is but your product differentiators. You can open a store with a single decor product for that matter.
Instead of looking at volume, think about these aspects:
- quality: is my product better? And how so?
- price: is it more competitive than similar products?
- innovation: does it have innovative features other don't?
- service: is my service better to influence the buying decision?
Hello
from my experience I would limit it to less is more, in that case I would suggest going with 5-10 skus at max. that way you have more control on what sells and you could always add more inventory as your business grows.

Is there any alternative to Yotpo app that can be integrated with any platform?
If you have international customers who speak other languages, response is lower when you speak to them in English. Solutions like Trustpilot handle that. Have implemented them plus some other methods for international customers in various countries, would be good to know a bit more about your specific requirements and share some tips on a phone call.GS

What is the most efficient way to integrate physical retail inventory into an e-commerce platform?
I have experience working at Target where we had thousands of different SKUs for the shoes and clothing department, and also handled online orders. In my experience the best platform for integrating physical retail inventory into an e-commerce platform is using Stitch Labs. Once you set up your initial account, Stitch brings all of your inventory together by integrating with your shopping carts, marketplaces, POS, payment processors and accounting solutions. This means that when you sell an item of clothing in a physical retail shop or any online platform including Amazon, Amazon FBA, Etsy, eBay, Shopify, etc. your master list of inventory is adjusted accordingly. They also integrate with Xero to push orders through and make accounting a breeze. If you would like to discuss inventory control or multi-channel e-commerce further, please reach out. Thanks, ReedRT

Should I partner with the e-commerce developer or should i purchase the website and pay for the monthly maintenance?
The partnership is not likely to pan out well for either of you. Sustainable partnerships need shared visions and goals for both parties, otherwise you are in it for material reasons that can easily dissipate with any sign of trouble. Although it can be much easier and cheaper to partner while starting out, I would not recommend the one you described if they are not taking on costs and risk. For now, I would suggest outsourcing the development and maintenance. It looks like it would surprisingly cost less in the long-run (which normally would be the case for seeking a partnership). Good luck.TB

Recommendations for a clothing fulfillment house that can do printed shirts and sweaters for women in Canada and USA?
Hi there! This is a great question - I actually started an apparel company that sells through Etsy about a year ago. We looked in to quite a few different fulfillment options, and, because of that, I've developed a really extensive list of resources and companies to do this. The answer to this really comes down to how much you want to spend per shirt, as well as the quantity of each design you want to order. Some companies use a process called Direct to Garment which allows you to order one item at a time as orders come in. This process is usually more expensive overall, but you don't need to order a bunch of the shirts before you know if they will sell through. Your margins are reduced though, and you need to wait for the shirts to be printed before shipping them, adding to the turnaround time after each order. Another option is Screen Printing, which can get you much lower costs per shirt, but you need to order in much higher quantities. This method is great if you have only a few designs that you are trying to sell, but becomes less feasible with more designs. As I said before, I have a really extensive list of companies that I've tried, so I know which ones really provide great quality, which ones are lower cost, and which ones do direct fulfillment. Let me know if you want to talk more!CW

What is the best way to convert a product UPC to a GTIN case code when the same UPC is packed in two different case configurations?
Depends if each item is sold individual, why would you need a 6pk & 12pk? I would have one GTIN a 6pk, that way if they order 12 it is just two 6pks.DR
