MenuWhat is the best approach to get distribution(authorized reselling) approval from big brands?
Answers
Great questions. Getting your foot in the door with large brands is usually not an easy task. You can try to find a link to a partnership page on their website and fill out the necessary information, but that is not always fruitful. I would try that as a start.
From there, you can look up the company on Linkedin and try to find people that work for that company in roles that could be applicable. Reach out to those people and try to connect with them. If they are not the right resource, they could give you the information to get your foot in the door.
Once you have a foot in the door, you need to make sure that you know your business like the back of your hand. Make sure your financials are in order, create financial reports, be prepared to show your business plan, your pitch deck, your previous successes, and a distinct plan on how you are planning to partner with the brand.
If you want to talk in more detail, please reach out to me, would love to discuss in detail and plan further.
Thank you,
Andrew
You can write a letter to the brand manager & apply for approval to sell the items of their brand.

What do I need if I want to be a supplement reseller in Canada? Would like to sell USA products that we don't have access to in Canada.
I hope I understood this right! You are in Canada and want to sell USA products but you don't know how and don't have licenses! Yes?... 1-Find a local Canadian supplier that have the appropriate licenses to sell, meaning that they can import from USA, 2-Call USA suppliers and tell them you want to buy in bulk and sell in Canada and need wholesale prices. 3- Find an importing/exporting company with appropriate licenses and ship your products 4- Cut a deal with a Canadian distribute on monthly sales commission OR per quantity sales price and collect your cash.. 5- I didnt get the part with online store!! Than you need to set up your online store?? BUT, make sure to start with local chamber of commerce or similar government offices to get understanding on what you can import and export, licenses etc... before you do anything.MA

Is 30% of initial and ongoing subscription revenues a reasonable percentage for Resellers of a SAAS Product?
From everything I've seen, 20-35% is definitely the sweet spot. It certainly depends on the price point and some people start lower but build in incentive criteria to bump the percentage up after a certain milestones have been met.CH

How would be the major differences between a centralised platform business model , a central franchise model & a distributed model?
Before you weigh the pros and cons of different platforms structures it's important to think about who your customers are and how you want the business to grow. I help companies find their most profitable customers and have worked with pre-revenue to high-growth $70M+ companies in the SaaS, consumer products and professional service spaces. We usually start our work by aligning around what the vision for the company is asking questions like "Where do we want to be in 3 years? Why?" From there we think about how customers will encounter and use the product, asking: - "Is it a business where relationships and high company involvement is needed after a sale is made?" A centralised business model is a good fit (more quality control). - "Are we a service based business seeking to minimize risk while expanding?" Then a franchise model is better. A business model/structure tumbles out having clear answers to these questions. One business structure is not inherently better than another. You're just picking the structure that best facilitates your business goals. Don't hesitate to contact me if you'd like to discuss your potential business model in more detail.AV

How can I get my prototypes created inexpensively for a line of decorative metal products?
Does it need to be in metal for a prototype? If not, do a 3d printed model and, if needed, wrap it in metal sheet/foil. There is no cheap way to do a production quality prototype.AM

What terms re-sellers use for selling SaaS?
A reseller typically purchases the SaaS at a discounted price and bill their client directly. I've seen reseller discounts range between 10% and 50%. The discount should be competitive with your industry, and allow a reasonable ROI for resellers. The reseller discount is typically for the life of the user otherwise expect resellers to offer their clients a competitor's SaaS. An affiliate or partner program that pays a commission for referring clients creates a direct relationship between your company and the users. In these types of programs, your commission could be a one-time payout upon referral, a recurring % of sale for the first year, or a recurring % of sale for the life of the client.MK
