Would like to create a prototype of the device to implement into an existing hair salon product. Should I patent the device?
Recently completed a business plan for re-designing an existing Hair Salon Product. I am not an engineer and would like to create a prototype.
Hi, in my opinion no, you should test first the device in your local saloon. After you improve the product, and after you are satisfied with the product is working, the next step would be branding and marketing. Before you come to market then you should fill for the patent.
Kind regards Kruno.
I would definitely recommend to patent, first do a search to see where you are standing.
What kind of prototype do you need: 3D printed, CNC machined? I normally go with 3D prototypes and, if the product is successful, build soft tools (which cost around 70% less than final molds). This allows you to test & improve your product according to market needs...
