I am in the beginning phase of building a subscription service.

Build and iterate the idea, and your understanding of the type of person that would want to buy it. Make each iterative step as you gain enough confidence to invest the time and money needed to take that step.
For instance, you can start by asking friends and family while it's still just an idea. If it seems to have promise, maybe make a landing page for it for free on somewhere like Weebly.com.
Start showing the landing page to friends and family again, but also to strangers now, and ask their opinion. Iterate the landing page, and prices etc. based on this feedback.
Maybe then build an online survey that you can circulate to more anonymous people within your theorized target demographic. See how they respond, and iterate the idea, website, and target demographic if needed.
Then see if you can get people to actually sign up. Contact everyone you've talked to up until now and show them the now polished website, idea, etc. and offer it to them at an early bird discount. See if anyone bites.
etc.
Let me know if you'd like more specific help with any of those steps, with regard to your specific idea,
best,
Lee
If you're not 100% sold on the idea, figure out what the ideal marketing offer would look like to promote this service. Then, launch a niche Facebook ad campaign at your ideal buyer and see what kind of traction you get.
This will help you determine if the interest is there before you go all in. It'll also give you a small list to sell to once the service is real.
Simple approach...
1) Setup a WordPress site with Paid Memberships Pro
2) Add WP Courseware, if you're adding videos to each subscription/membership level
3) Drive traffic to site. Might be via talks to Meetup Groups or Facebook Ads or Traffic Oxygen campaigns.
If you provide more specifics of what you've already done + your target outcome, likely many more people can provide assistance.

How can I go about finding a business partner for my startup?
Hello! Aside from the typical website platforms, I would recommend using Twitter's hashtags and user handles. Try following and using the ones that your potential prospect or otherwise ideal partners would be following and start sharing about your work, your progress, and outreach for a potential partner. If possible try to be local when doing so. But obviously, some to use include Startups.co, Basecamp, Inc 500, yesPHX, BetaBulls, MPV, Lean Startup, Lean Methodologies, TechCrunch, etc.HV

A tech startup fully outsourced. What problems would be in this situation?
The ideal way would be to hire the engineer while the project is still under development. You and the engineer should follow up with the outsourced partner in the process. This will give hold to the engineer and later more staff can be trained in upgrading or follow on versions of the product/service.SM

What is the best way to capture and track referrals directed from a landing page?
There are a few ways to track things automatically, but they get complicated: - referral program software - Give your referrers special URL's with parameters that identify them as the referrer (like http://url.com/?referrer=JohnDoe), then push that value into a hidden form field - Create a separate landing page for each referrer I'd keep things much simpler to start. Just tell your social club that there's a referral program in place, then add a form field on your signup process asking who referred the new customer. If John Doe knows that there's a program in place, when he refers someone, he's likely to tell them "make sure you say I referred you". When the new customer joins, they'll likely remember to enter "John Doe" as the referrer. It's not bullet proof, but it's an easy way to start.CD

Can a C Corp be the owner of and fund several LLC's? Can these LLC's have the same paid Directors?
Yes! But is very tricky. I have a C Corp own two LLCs. You should have separate board of directors in the C Corp that are not owners in the LLCs. Pay through bonuses rather than salaries and aggregate expenses of the LLCs as op. expenses as SBUs of the corp. The reasons for having a C own LLCs can vary, my reasons were that it allows me to join or create new ventures without having to formalize them with dedicated teams, just cycle my team to different efforts while seperatig expenses, not reporting publicly what is being worked on, and if the product takes off the formation is already there to grow the product into a division or umbrella product of my main company. LLCs are easy to form, while C corps are not... One example would be having a conglomerate of investors under a c corp and have advisors and creating an LLc for each new rental construction development project completed. Each is his own, if something goes wrong the LLC covers the C entity- this protecting its investor members. Best of luck! Humberto Valle #unthinkHV

What is the best country to start an online marketing and design business in?
I have registered over 20 companies in the last decade and from my experience I can tell you that every country serves a different purpose. I run a small gambling company that I have registered in Malta due to the legality of online gambling there. I have another company registered in Delaware, whilst my main company is registered in the Netherlands. If your business is only online I would advise you to register it in Europe or if you must in the United States in Delaware/Nevada. Credibility wise I would say that registering your company in Singapore or Malta or Costa Rica, will not benefit you much opposed to say Delaware or The Netherlands. I am available for a call if you need anymore help. I am currently doing a promotion for a one time free 15 minute phone call so just send me a message for the discount code.GS
