Best camera for taking still pictures and connecting to Beagle Board about 50 ft away

Hello , I am working on a product prototype and need to connect a camera via ordinary data cable to a UART of beagle board (BBB). The camera should be able to take night time still pictures , is about 50 ft away from BBB UART and will transmit pictures. Also I am looking for robust mounting as camera will be situated in a public traffic area. Can you please refer a good camera and mounting solution. I am looking for the most economical solution.
