MenuBookkeeping automation resources for early stage enterprise health IT software company?
I used inDinero years ago when they launched but their enterprise solution is too expensive now. Are there other bookkeeping automation platforms out there? We have several single sale pilots for our enterprise mobile health solution, need to set up and streamline accounting. We have an accounting firm, but we are looking to automate the bookkeeping to save on expense. Any thoughts or suggestions would help!

I did not actually have too much experience with bookkeeping platforms before. But we stick with Xero and there is no reason why I should look for another option.
Xero works.
Don't stop taking massive action.

Take a close look at Bench Accounting (bench.co), particularly its features page (https://bench.co/features/) which should give you an idea if it is a fit. It is a combination of the bookkeeping technology along with actual bookkeepers so it is a technology-enabled service (end-to-end) but does not offer tax accounting or more complex outsourced CFO functions. Might be a good fit for you (full disclosure, I'm the CFO at Bench). Hope that helps!

How do we log the inital funding of a C-Corp with funds from the owner's personal account in Quickbooks?
When you open a bank account for your corporation, you'll need to make an initial deposit with your personal funds. A shareholder's initial contribution can be recorded as either debt or equity. If you want to record the initial contribution as equity, you would debit cash for the amount deposited into the bank account, and credit an equity account, such as “shareholder’s equity” or “capital stock”. Alternatively, you can record the deposit as a shareholder loan. Debit cash for the amount deposited, and credit a liability account, such as “Loans from Shareholder”. There are also methods to bifurcate the contribution by recording a contribution as a combination of debt or equity.JK

Running a sports camp, do I need to have two people who are working it with me fill out an independent contractor form? Or can I just cut them a check
It will surely depends on where you are located. In Canada, you can ask the 2 employees/contractors to provide you a bill like any company does when they sell services to customers and you can pay them by check. The employee/contractor would need to be registered as a company (incorported or registered on their names, it doesn't matter). Expect to pay sales taxes if you go this way but you won't have any "employee paperwork" to do. Regards, ErikEH

How do I initially fund a c-corp bank account with personal funds?
You can fund your new Corporation bank account by depositing personal funds into that Corporation account for initial capital for the business. That investment can be classified as a loan to the Corporation or may be for issued stock shares of the Corporation (a needed conversation). I can help you set up ta chart of accounts, based on your specific business, which can be used by any accounting system but I mostly work with QuickBooks Online. (Message me for a referral to a Xero bookkeeper if Xero is imperative.) Best wishes!KD
