MenuHow to batch watermark videos on a Mac faster than real time?
The only simple solutions I've seen either (1) don't do batch processing e.g. Screenflow or (2) do batch processing but an hour of video takes an hour of processing. I want to be able to upload 20 hours of video and not have it take a full day. I'm not a video person, not a techie, just want a simple solution to handle this one feature. Thank you :)

I remember that Adobe Media Encoder used to have options for water marking. Check that and possibly, but unlikely Apple Compressor out.
Hope that helps!
Your best solution is going to be probably adding the watermark in the encode step. I don't know what you are using, but both Adobe Media Encoder 7.1 and Apple Compressor allow you to do this. You simply save the watermark as an image or photoshop file and load it into the encoder, and save it as a preset. Now depending on a variety of factors (machine speed, video size and framerate, etc) it may be faster or slower than realtime, you will have to test it to find the right formula.
My recommandation is: import your video files in Final Cut Pro, insert a PNG with your watermark, place it and size it in the frame, stretch the PNG duration to match your video file, output QuickTime file in the format of your choice.

Any advice / suggestions or reputable recommendations for how to videos?
Great question. I think you'll find that most video production companies are "reputable" however the bigger question is what kind of quality do you want and what is your budget? Having been a creative and video director for 20 years, I've seen budgets from $1,000 to $100,000 for videos, for widely varying types of projects. For a simple explainer you are looking in the realm of $500-$5000 depending the on quality and customization. There are places that charge more and do amazing work but those companies are typically creating work for bigger brands. Hope that helps.SM

Launching video website for power industry. Website will offer user subscriptions for $29.95/mo for access to 50+ videos. Should it be free instead?
Hi, Walter here. Assume I am your potential customer. I see your website because I am searching for related power industry information. I am in the searching stage, not ready to buy. No idea about your company reputation, nor have and idea of who you are. The Know, Like and Trust factor is missing. Hard to be your customer in the above circumstances. If you ask me to pay a subscription fee to access the information I am looking for, I will look some place else. --- Here is my answer: 1. Need to build up you and your company to your potential customers. a. Tell your Avatar, that's your target customer. your story on how and why you are solving their particular problem in a video, a free video story. b. Include a call to action in the email, mostly providing more updated information on the matter by email. So you are requesting the potential customer email (Opt-in) c. Once you received the email, send a comprehensive, value loaded email with things as: Infographic with statistics about your avatar problem and pointing toward your company on how to solve it. Add a video following up to the one on the Opt-in form where you got the email to start with. Remember it takes and average of 7 presentations for a sales conversion. So present the opportunity to take action every time you send and email along with value. You are building TRUST by stepping on the customer shoes and helping him up. So you will have to Opt-in options on all you emails out. Once to subscribe to your videos series and one for a survey to closely identify the customer problems and desires. Today's marketing is about story telling. Follow up with powerful value to them and build up you email list. There, in the mailing list is where your power is. That's you sales pipe, the communication channel to build your relation to your potential customer and convert them to customers when the Know, Like and Trust is build. My friend, MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!WR

What is the best YouTube video editing software to start out using?
Hello and good day! The good news is that we are living in great times to produce our own videos. When I first started we needed to spend at least 20k-100k to edit professional-quality video. Now we can produce quality videos with apps that we may already own. The best software tool I would recommend to start editing is Apple’s iMovie. It is a very powerful tool that is actually easy to use and learn. The video linked below was edited with iMovie on an iPad. iMovie is already included in most of our devices. Once we learn iMovie and want more advanced features we can move up to Final Cut Pro which is Apple’s Professional editing tool. There are a lot of similarities between these two apps so the transition should be easy. The good thing about Final Cut Pro is that it is a one time charge, so there is no Monthly fee as with other tools and we get to save a lot of money in the long run. However, depending on the complexity of your videos, you may not even need to use Final Cut Pro and just stay with iMovie. I hope this helps. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know. Thank you for your valuable time and have an amazing day! :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyYhM0XIIwU https://www.apple.com/imovie/DO

I'm looking into opening a video production company in both UAE and France. How do I test/research the market to know if this is a relevant idea?
Find a business similar to the one you wish to open. Speak to the owner and make a wholesale pricing agreement. ie: he gives you a discount and produces work for you that you provide to your client. Go find customers and sell the services. If you can sell enough services for it to make sense to start providing the service yourself then grow into production. If not, you haven't risked anything more than a lot of your time. Whether you are great at video production or not, what matters is that you can generate enough sales for your business to be successful. Testing your sales ability 'in the trenches' is a much better measure of potential success than most market research I've seen. Thanks David Barnett www.InvestLocalBook.comDC
