MenuHow to batch watermark videos on a Mac faster than real time?
The only simple solutions I've seen either (1) don't do batch processing e.g. Screenflow or (2) do batch processing but an hour of video takes an hour of processing. I want to be able to upload 20 hours of video and not have it take a full day. I'm not a video person, not a techie, just want a simple solution to handle this one feature. Thank you :)

I remember that Adobe Media Encoder used to have options for water marking. Check that and possibly, but unlikely Apple Compressor out.
Hope that helps!
Your best solution is going to be probably adding the watermark in the encode step. I don't know what you are using, but both Adobe Media Encoder 7.1 and Apple Compressor allow you to do this. You simply save the watermark as an image or photoshop file and load it into the encoder, and save it as a preset. Now depending on a variety of factors (machine speed, video size and framerate, etc) it may be faster or slower than realtime, you will have to test it to find the right formula.
My recommandation is: import your video files in Final Cut Pro, insert a PNG with your watermark, place it and size it in the frame, stretch the PNG duration to match your video file, output QuickTime file in the format of your choice.

We know videos 'should' be 1-2 mins, but our homepage video has many key msgs. At 2.50 mins we're happy with it. Is this ever acceptable?
A 2 minute explainer video is like being chained to a wheel of injustice. Seriously :) when did you manage to get through a 2 minute video without leaving or skipping? 1min to 1.5mins TOPS. Break the other deeper aspects into short form video explanations or separate the feature set out as a separate video. Homepage video: 1. Help the viewer identify with the problem 2. Ask leading questions (creates a curious mindset 3. Tell them about the solution quickly and the differentiator (now Bob can travel fro x>y 1.5 times faster and cheaper than any competitor whilst Joe, Shmo and Clet get to be drivers without a $1m medallion). 4. Summarize 5. CTA The rest you can explain in deeper pages with feature-set explainer videos(even shorter! Bite size chunks that make you want to watch more... Like eating some small tasty M&Ms)EE

Any advice / suggestions or reputable recommendations for how to videos?
Great question. I think you'll find that most video production companies are "reputable" however the bigger question is what kind of quality do you want and what is your budget? Having been a creative and video director for 20 years, I've seen budgets from $1,000 to $100,000 for videos, for widely varying types of projects. For a simple explainer you are looking in the realm of $500-$5000 depending the on quality and customization. There are places that charge more and do amazing work but those companies are typically creating work for bigger brands. Hope that helps.SM

How to get more monetized YouTube views?
Yes, you need to sell something that earns you money beyond the YouTube advertising. I've had a channel for years and sell books, courses, Clarity calls and consulting. YouTube is a great platform for selling yourself and your expertise but as more people come on board, the revenues from advertising falls. Arrange a call if you'd like to brainstorm some ideas. How to handle large amounts of video data/streaming
If you wanted to get creative about things and keep your costs down try this. Dropbox business for $795 a year / unlimited storage "Embed from Dropbox The second option requires at least a basic understanding of how HTML embed codes work. It’s not complicated, so don’t be scared off, but it’s also not copy and pasting an embed code from YouTube. You’re essentially creating your own embed code. You start with the following HTML5 code as a template: <video width="320" height="240" controls="controls"> <source src="movie.mp4" type="video/mp4" /> </video> Now, follow the steps above on getting the link to the video. Then, where you see “movie.mp4,” you’ll want to replace this with that link. For example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/os60r63ogwfl408/your_video_here.mp4. Next, you’ll want to adjust your width & height. You’ll want to use dimensions that best fit within your site. I use this handy little chart to help me figure out the best size to ensure maximum size compatibility. When you’re all done, your embed code should look something like this: <video width="512" height="288" controls="controls"> <source src="https://www.dropbox.com/s/os60r63ogwfl408/your_video_here.mp4" type="video/mp4" /> </video>" referenced here http://www.lockergnome.com/media/2012/06/26/how-use-dropbox-host-stream-videos/TM

I'm looking into opening a video production company in both UAE and France. How do I test/research the market to know if this is a relevant idea?
Find a business similar to the one you wish to open. Speak to the owner and make a wholesale pricing agreement. ie: he gives you a discount and produces work for you that you provide to your client. Go find customers and sell the services. If you can sell enough services for it to make sense to start providing the service yourself then grow into production. If not, you haven't risked anything more than a lot of your time. Whether you are great at video production or not, what matters is that you can generate enough sales for your business to be successful. Testing your sales ability 'in the trenches' is a much better measure of potential success than most market research I've seen. Thanks David Barnett www.InvestLocalBook.comDC
