MenuIs there any plugin available to measure monthly active registered users?
I want to know is there any javascript or plug and play tool available which I can use for my website to measure how many monthly, weekly or daily active users I have?
Here I am only talking about measuring registered users, please do not suggest Google Analytics
I also want to know how can I measure avg. monthly hour spend by users?

Try Intercom.io
You get visitor level information on how active they are etc.
https://www.intercom.io/ (disclosure: I'm an investor)
Also, any of the following
www.kissmetrics.com
www.mixpanel.com
www.heapanalytics.com/
I'd recommend KissMetrics. it allows you to track events on individual level. So you will know for each user how much time he has spend on the platform, what he has done exactly and how he is using it.
MixPanel is also a good option and they are quite similiar with some little differences.
Instead of spending more time and money on other products, if you have Google Analytics running on your site already. All you need to oo is add a custom variable say for example logginein: True/False and then you can easily filter for active users.
Let me know if you need help.

If you were hired by a SaaS company that needed to increase its free user base from 1,200 to 3,000 in 6 weeks w/a budget of $10k, how would you do it?
Top 2 tactics: Existing Users and Industry Influencers. First, leverage the existing user base. Incent referrals with $5 for every new free user they get to sign up and start using PT Engine for a new domain. Second, reach influencers and offer them the same deal when they tweet / post to / email their audiences. Make the offer a 60 day free trial instead of the standard 30 day so that they are providing value to the people they refer as well. This is critical - don't make them feel sleazy, make them feel (and look) like heroes to the connections they share PT Engine with. That's $9k to get 1800 users, leaving you $1k for graphics, referral tracking system, administrative costs. I assume the $10k budget does not include your time - if it does you'll have to reduce the incentive, which will definitely make it less appealing. What is the best tool to visualize different types of data? I have all the info on my website but need a nice tool to visualize it.
Depending on the data, you can either use one of the following. Google Spreeshet / Charts: I use this for real time analytics generated from our system to quickly visualize the information. There's a simple JSON API that lets you pull that in although their is limits on the amount of rows you can use. Geckoboard: They provide dashboard type widgets you can configure to show you real time trends and information. Highcharts.com: Simple chart generator. We use this in our Admin Dashboard to visualize all our data include cohorts and weekly KPI's. I like simple and free.DM

How does Quora.com and Wikipedia measures their monthly active users?
I am not exactly sure how Quora does it but I would guess that they use something like Google Analytics. It looks at what percentage of your visitors come back each day, every other day, each week, etc. It's a good metric system that is crucial for building a meaningful web product, and it's almost always positive. If someone comes back to your site regularly each week, or even better each day, it means you're becoming a regular and important part of their life. The problem with any other single metric system is they can be the result of positive or negatives changes to your product. You need to have a near-wholistic picture and Google Analytics can help with that. Tools like Klout and Hubspot are good with the measurement of engagement on a brands different channels (website, facebook, twitter, gplus...) too. Let's chat some more and get down to the heart of this problem. Hopefully I can help you resolve any internal discomfort around the matter.MM

What tools to send push notifications and in-app messages do you use? Which engagement type works better?
I think push vs in-app are two different things, like email and telephone call. Push reaches people who are not using your app, but require OS-level permission. In-app gives you much more flexibility but they only reach people who are using your app (obviously!). As to whether in-house or external SDK is best, it depends what you are trying to do and whether an external system handles it. For a typical retail environment the SDKs might be easiest--it's a well-established use-case. For something needing a more customized algorithm, an in-house system might work as well as an external SDK (for less money). There are simple options to save you from starting completely from scratch, from PHP toolkits to Amazon SNS. It depends on what (if any) server environment you have... Hope that helps!RF

Will using both Google Adwords Auto-Tagging AND Manual Tagging with UTM variables create any tracking problems in Google Analytics?
I've done a lot of complex analytics installations, usually cross-domain and including AdWords and manual tagging with conversion tracking of ecommerce transactions. The gclid by default will override the manual UTM values in Analytics so that is what you are looking for. If you are just grabbing the manual tags from the URL for your own purpose, this should be OK. However, if you at some point want to import conversions (say) connected to your manual tag, then you would want to enable UTM overriding the gclid: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033981?hl=en. Do you have AdWords and Analytics accounts linked? Where and how are you tracking commerce conversions, if you are? Do you feel you are getting the insights you need from your current custom reporting? Let me know if I can help with a call about those or further optimization of your analytics capture.
