As the driving wheel of the email team, Nick was something of a phenomenon in the Growth/Product division. His execution of email campaigns was nothing short of masterful; but even more impressive was the way he absorbed the lessons and takeaways from the campaigns we ran and became a powerful adviser and consultant to our team leaders. He did all of this while producing multiple daily emails in a constantly shifting environment, one where where timelines are measured not in days but in hours. Nick is unquestionably a marketing MVP.
I've had the unique experience of being trained by Nick, working under him and later delegating to him when he transitioned to a consultant role. Nick’s patience and ability to communicate clearly make him a fantastic teacher and supervisor, while his can-do attitude and strong work ethic make him a dedicated employee. Nick is a team player who can easily transition into leadership roles as needed. He is able to accomplish detailed tasks with excellence, while contributing innovative recommendations that align with the company’s larger vision. In addition, he brings knowledge of the software industry, best business practices, lean startup methodology and CRM to the table. Any company would be lucky to have him.
Nick Allen is a passionate and gifted marketing professional who took an entry level CRM role, grew within it, and then turned it into a chance to shine in product marketing too. Above all, Nick demonstrated a willingness to go above and beyond expectations. We asked him to help us with reporting tasks - he automated them and built out a database driven solution to show trends. We asked him to help increase upsell - he came up with a prototype, which we are building out, to bundle trials so that customers could opt at account creation to add on a premium product. We asked him to help us envision a better product, and he jumped into an active role on a core team, building prototypes and running them by customers. I look forward to seeing where his career takes him and what he can accomplish as a leader and a professional.
Since I began at Citrix, Nick has been a tremendous asset to our team, and to the entire organization. He exhibits an incredible amount of enthusiasm for solving difficult problems and ‘outside-of-the-box’ thinking, and it shows in all of the programs we do in CRM.
He is like an idea machine, constantly churning out new ideas and ways we can improve our products & streamline our processes. And as anybody who has worked with him can attest, his friendly and easy-going personality means he is extremely easy & fun to work with.
In short - Nick is a true marketing rock star, whose business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit are matched only by his will to succeed.
Nick is a terrific team member, always coming up with new, inventive ideas and thinking outside the box. He's hard working, very intelligent and a pleasure to work with.
Nick was a true asset to Suntech as we began marketing to utility-scale customers. Nick helped with everything from drafting press releases to developing new marketing materials. He was one of the few interns invited to return to work part-time during his senior year. I give him my highest recommendation.
Nick Allen is an extraordinary new college graduate! I had the pleasure of working with him for the past six months as his teacher and internship supervisor in UCSB's Professional Writing Minor, Business Communication emphasis.
Our Minor is competitive--students apply to get selected in this highly professional capstone experience. Nick was one of 24 top seniors selected for this challenging minor. Nick did excellent work for me and for our clients. He was particularly diligent in learning and mastering Dreamweaver and created an outstanding website and portfolio. He tackled the challenge of learning our website Content Management System (Joomla) so he could create a strong administrator manual. His many abilities in online and print writing, collaborative writing, and clear professional communication add a unique competitive edge to his business and environmental degrees.
He is personable, a strong and experienced leader, good collaborator, and innovative thinker. Nick seems destined for a great career; I would hire him without reservations! Dr. LeeAnne G. Kryder, UCSB July 2010
Nick was one of Environmental Studies Program Outstanding Seniors in 2010 (2 out of over 200 graduates). Not only was he an outstanding student, but as co-Chair of the Environmental Affairs Board, he was a leader and an organizer. Among other things, he put together a full day symposium on the Copenhagen climate conference--it was an extraordinary success. Creating that success took the courage and energy to take it on, invite a series of prominent speakers, organize a student group, and maneuver the University infrastructure. It also took extraordinary tact and grace to deal with some of the issues that arose during the planning. He gets my highest recommendation.
Josh Schimel, Chair, Environmental Studies Program
Nick was voted “Outstanding Senior of the Year” by the faculty in the Environmental Studies Department for his exceptional academic record and devoted extracurricular involvement. He has initiated many great projects during his time at UCSB, including co-authoring an extensive report on US electricity policy that he then took to Washington, D.C. to lobby on Capitol Hill for clean energy policy, fundraising to bring students as official delegates to the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark in Winter 2009, and organizing a major climate conference at UCSB to share perspectives with the greater student body. His ability to inspire, organize, and lead his peers has been outstanding. We are proud to see Nick graduate and begin his search for a career, but will miss his energy and passion here on campus."
Nick was an invaluable asset to our employee team for both the classroom service and theatrical production aspects of Campbell Hall. He started with an eager attitude and continued to grow and learn skills throughout his four year employment. He was always prompt and had an aptitude for working directly with clients. When he gained seniority, he took on a leadership role with humility and skill. Nick has a great drive for perfection in his own work and sets the bar high for those following him.
Nick has excelled in his role as Chair of the Environmental Affairs Board. With his guidance, the organization has developed into a serious force for positive change on campus and beyond. Nick’s vision, leadership, and dedication to the environmental movement are apparent. His work this year has been truly impressive.
