I had the opportunity to work directly with Matthew during his corps year at City Year Boston. Throughout the year, Matthew demonstrated a commitment to hard work and innovation within the program. Additionally, Matthew held many leadership positions on the team and in the corps. As a leader, Matthew focused on improving himself and his peers.

Matt is a genuine and driven guy who truly cared about his job and the youth we were working with. He always arrived at school early with a smile on and was the first outside to greet the kids as they got off the bus. In the classroom, he worked with the toughest children and kept meticulous data on their progress. We were all impressed at his ability to create drastic improvements in student performance and corroborate those improvements through his use of data. As my supervisor in the morning program, he demonstrated his ability to create a plan and execute on it, transforming a neglected program into a well-organized opportunity to create relationships with students. I would highly recommend Matt for any position, as he consistently demonstrates his ability to rise to the occasion when presented with a challenge he is passionate about.
