MenuHow to Properly Structure a Book
Created 11 years ago in Sales & Marketing / Publishing
Have a great idea for a book but don't know how to structure your thoughts? You're not alone.
Many writers and authors struggle not because their ideas aren't good but because they lack insight, skill, and experience with structuring ideas into complete creations. Think of a book as a house or any other standing structure: the ones that endure time and attract admiration are those with smart architecture. As an experienced editor working with authors and writers in a variety of genres, I know how to "architect" a book that you can be proud of.
This session is perfect for the author or writer who is lost in his own thoughts, unsure of how to start, advance, or end his book concept. It's also perfect for the writer or author who is concerned he has gaping holes in his book's structure that he cannot see himself and that his friends and beta readers may be too unwilling to be honest about.

Matt is analogous to a chess grand master who has the game won within the opening four moves. He is a dynamic wizard that is passionately bothered by complacency.
To say that I was humbled and fortunate to work with Matt would be an understatement. There are no combination of words that can help me articulate how dynamic, motivating, and inspirational Matt is. I had the great pleasure of working with Matt on a project over the course of two years at J&J. It is because of Matt that these two years were hands down the most fun I've ever had there.
Matt pioneered a digital strategy for J&J, which would later become a standard for driving better economic analysis of our strategic accounts. This digital strategy included websites, web applications, and mobile applications (iPhone and Pad). As a result of Matt's work, J&J has generated upwards of $20 million in incremental revenue. This is completely due to work in the digital space driven by Matt to support our sales reps and national account directors.
The best way that I can describe Matt's vision is that he is 5-10 years ahead of current best practices. He is never just one step ahead in the way that he operates, he is at least 5 steps ahead. I do not believe traits like these can be taught, there are some people that are simply gifted. Matt is one of these people. He marries his gifted potential with a passionate spirit and the combination is a penchant for remarkable results.
I'm thankful for having worked with Matt, humbled by his talent, and grateful for a new lifelong friend. I give Matt my highest possible professional recommendation and guarantee that you will be delighted by the experience of working with Matt.

Matt constantly over-delivers and consistently makes me re-think how I approach my writing. His edits and critiques are simultaneously wildly creative and profoundly useful.
I will definitely be taking advantage of Matt's talents in the future.
Source: LinkedIn Joel Runyon Feb 2, 2014I invested in Matt's superb copy writing skills for a program I launched. I had never hired or worked with a copywriter before and I can honestly say Matt was a total superstar to work with.
I've never met someone so true to their word in terms of setting clear explanations of deliverable - in fact he over-delivered. Plus he met every single deadline and many times in advance.
As a result it made my launch process much easier knowing I could rely on Matt completely and it created a more streamlined process as there were very few amendments need.
His process to understand my needs was the key to the launch success as he worked through the psychological and emotional benefits as as well as the tangible features.
Matt has a creative mind that he uses with aplomb. He makes me want to be a better writer.
I'm looking forward to future projects with Matt - he's my new go-to man for making words come to life and convert to happy customers and sales.
