Gained extensive experience in building up non-profit organizations, securing funding, public/media relations, developing youth volunteers in their leadership and advocacy capacity, managing paid staff and volunteer teams to work together. Further skills developed in board acquisition and strategic planning allows you to assess where you want to go, then prioritize operations accordingly to get there.
Matt was an outstanding member of the Leadership and Mentorship program at Western and was not only an outstanding peer mentor to many first year students, he was a role model for all of the peer mentors. He went above and beyond the call of duty and worked hard to facilitate an inclusive environment in the program.
Matt also created the Conversation Cafe program where students, staff and faculty could meet on a regular basis and talk about contentious issues, life's big questions and more. Thank you Matt for your contributions!
