At just eleven years old, Liv designed her first handbag collection, “Le Cirque” which was sold through a national retailer, Garnet Hill. “I think I’ve recognized that we’re told from the start that we must wait until we’re older to make an impact, to explore careers and excel. But from a young age, I wanted to change that mindset”. For girls across the country, her collection for “tweens” may have very well been their first introduction to leather handbags.
As Liv grew, her entrepreneurial spirit continued on… and in high school, she saw an opportunity in the fashion industry to create multifunctional handbags that were independent from what was already on the “teen” fashion market. Inspired by her and her friends’ late night food cravings after long nights out, she designed a patent to address the late night dilemma! It’s the little things in life,” said Liv on the many hidden snack pockets found in her bags and her patent, the COINKEEPER, (actually genius: tiny slot on handbags that keeps your coins in their own compartment).
Liv incorporates what she knows is necessary in a handbag; durability, versatility, and organization. As she once said, “I have gone from an interview with my laptop inside of my handbag, to grabbing sneakers out of it before shoving it into a locker to go my Zumba class at the gym”. Latico by Liv is different because it is designed for girls like her, by her. Her bags have been in Free People, Garnet hill Catalog, and in stores across the country. Many celebrities rock her bags as well- Michael Strahan, Sam Dekker, and Brandi Cyrus, to name a few!
Over her summers in college, she worked at Jil Sander as an assistant to the President of North American operations, and as an independent contractor for Teen Vogue. She also led a team of five interns for Latico By Liv, hosted a radio show on 91.7 fm with her best friend, and worked as a Production Assistant for Fox News. Liv’s passion for handbags trickled into clothing and game day trends, after noticing the same styles being repeated at tailgates, year after year.
She decided to design and produce DARTY LAUNDRY, a tailgate line for girls at UW-Madison. With styles sold out within the first hour of availability, the line will be continuing into next fall. On, Wisconsin! When asked about her goals for Latico by Liv and DARTY LAUNDRY, Liv said, “All my life, I have aspired to be a role model for other girls. It is very important that my customers understand that when carrying or wearing one of my brands, they must be good role models, too”.
Liv is now living and working in NYC as a brand consultant and real estate agent at Core NYC. She graduated a year early from the school of Journalism at the University of Wisconsin- Madison, majoring in Strategic Communications with business certificates from FIT and Parson's. She has managed the likes of brands: Parsons x Teen Vogue, ALBA, Graduate Hotels, Pave The Way Jewelry, Kamps Fit, Latico Leathers, Remedy Organics, and more.
She is constantly collaborating with brands on her personal Instagram page, like: Patchology, Thursday Boots, MukLuks, Three Water, Hipchik Blazers, Chapstick, CollegeFashionista, MadHappy, Lively, OutEast, Buxom, Red's Mercantile, Palmer's, SleepRiot, AiliHen Headsets, I'm Shmacked, Little Words, Tailgate Wisconsin, Wylie Wilson, LondonTown Nails, and more.
