Multi-industry digital marketing strategist. SEO and social media expert with Fortune 500, 100, domestic and foreign government, NGOs and small businesses. Online Marketing speaker and trainer.
I am a change agent who has been hired to educate, assess, and create integrated communications strategies. Some of those plans have tanked websites due to too much traffic. I rock at explaining digital marketing (really anything SEO, social media, mobile, content marketing, search/social analytics). I’m an “out of the box” thinker who can develop online marketing strategies for in-house marketers strapped for resources and time - and those solutions drive results. in case you're wondering what kind of results those could be, here are some of my previous accomplishments:
* Losing 3 websites due to too much traffic. In one case, I drove 1.2 million to one website in one month. * Creating the strategy and leading the team that helped New Yorkers get their health care questions answered via social media for the New York State of Health - resulting in 40,000 NYers signing up for health insurance during week one - more than any other state exchange. * Changing search behavior and driving implementation of electronic health records for the US Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of the National Coordinator
You'll want to also make sure to translate your image alt tags, and only Google uses rel=canonical, so you might be better off using the “content-language” meta tag for all of the other engines you're targeting. Baidu and Bing use the meta tag instead.
FYI. This is the best guide I've seen on hreflang tags yet: https://yoast.com/hreflang-ultimate-guide and I use this hreflang testing tool frequently: http://flang.dejanseo.com.au/
