For eight years, I have been speaking about business systems and processes, and consulting and working with freelancers and agency owners about process automation to improve client services.
In 2009, my digital agency was growing so fast I needed to hire help, but I didn't want to hire an employee and I didn't want to entrust integral aspects of my business with a virtual assistant. By implementing documented systems and processes and automating repetitive tasks, I was able to leverage software to do everything I needed instead of hiring an employee. Software that never got sick, never needed a vacation, and got the job done right every time.
While I knew that automated, documented business systems and processes would improve productivity, the most surprising result was that clients were happier, the sales process was smoother, and referrals increased dramatically. Automation allowed our agency to provide higher-quality service and more nurturing support. Clients felt more cared for even though we were spending less time interacting with them directly.
