PHP Applications

I have been building for the web in PHP since 2007. I have working with many Open Source applications from WordPress, CakePHP, CodeIgniter, etc.. I have also written my own high performance CMS and a few SaaS apps from scratch including using SQL and noSQL technologies.

Cloud Hosting

Running Linux systems since 2009 I am very fluent in advanced command line and building a secure Linux server with either LAMP or LEMP stacks. I have also designed high availability systems with an array of nodes running a site or system.

Advice on Getting the Most Out of WordPress

I am a Web Engineer / Lead Developer from Wisconsin doing programming and system administration since 2006.
I enjoy learning new things and make it an adventure to learn something new every day.

I am efficient in many web coding languages, both Client Side Coding and Server Side Coding.

I have a passion for WordPress and inventing new things. WordPress can be very efficient when the site developed and implemented correctly with performance in mind.

GoDaddy recommends I change my WordPress site’s hosting to improve email deliverability. Should I do so or use a transactional ESP instead?

You could fix your email issues using Transaction ESP, like SendGrid.
Install this plugin in WordPress https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/
Which switches all emails to use SMTP and you set it up with your ESP's SMTP credentials.
I do this a lot with sites on cloud instances and it works very well.

On top of that, using an ESP like SendGrid you can actually see statistics of who is getting the email, bouncing, opening, etc... Great stuff, especially for a online business.

I was lucky enough to find Jeff back in 2009, when I was just launching the complex Big Mike Betting membership website.

After numerous so called 'experts' had happily taken my money and installed their software, but then having broken my website, wouldn't take responsibility for the mess they had created, I was at a total loss as to what to do.
