For many filmmakers, Self Distribution may be the best option to actually make $$ from your labor of love. What a concept! Traditional film distribution is a four alarm dumpster fire. 17 Emmy Awards, 50 Countries, 50+ Documentaries (feature & shorts). Being an accomplished one-man-band (Producer, Shooter, Editor), my goal is to help you tell the most engaging story while arming you with tips and trips to save money and time with Pre-Production, Production, Post and Marketing.
Trying to move donors to give without using an engaging video is like fishing in a dry lake. (Not recommended) I've been helping non-profits produce videos that produce results for 20+ years. Regardless of your budget, there's always a creative way to tell a story that moves a heart and changes a mind. But, after you produce it, what will do with it? It's key to have a solid marketing strategy for your marketing/fundraising video. I'd love to share some ideas.
There are a number of important questions that will influence your strategy to monetize your healthy list of 60k leads.
-Do you have a product to sell? A list is meaningless unless you have a credible offer that resonates with your leads.
-If you don't have a product, can you create one to match the interest of your niche? If not, can you partner with someone who has a relevant product but needs a big list? Or someone who wants to "rent" access to your list.
-You can also consider starting a blog/newsletter to deliver industry-targeted news and content...which can be later monetized.
I, too, am in the filmmaking space and have a lot of experience with this. Feel free to reach out if you'd like to set-up a strategy call. Would love to help!
