I've spent the last five years finding the most effective ways to help people break out of anxious cycles. At its root, anxiety can be thought of as a means of wanting control. While depression is caused by wanting to control the past (which is impossible), anxiety is caused by wanting to control the future (which is also impossible). Reconnecting with an identity of strength and competence helps end this need for control. Traditional thought-based techniques are combined with newer emotionally focused ones in order to meet each client's needs. Most clients report a significant drop in anxious patterns within 6 to 8 weeks.
One of the most common issues in today's world is a feeling of disconnection from ourselves. This is especially common among "successful" individuals who have spent so much effort pursuing external goals that they've lost sight of who they actually are within. Prolonged feelings of this can cause serious levels of stress, depression, anxiety or worse. Everything from one's career to relationships can be affected. It's impossible to know where you want to go if you don't know who you are.
