are the #1 hacking target in crypto)
- KYC/AML pipeline integration

Timeline: 12-24 months minimum for a serious CEX
Cost: $500k-$2M+ for compliant, secure build

Regulatory requirements:
- MSB registration (FinCEN if US-facing)
- VASP registration (EU under MiCA 2024)
- Travel Rule compliance (FATF)
- Separate requirements per jurisdiction
