I Will Advise You on Being Successful in an Emergency Department.
I've been working as a registered nurse in the emergency room for 18 years. Let me coach you on assessing and treating patients, communicating with patients, families and coworkers; including management.
If you are a manager or director of a department, I can give you some perspective on what staff nurses look for in a manager.
Ok, here are some of my stats.
I am a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor, Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) instructor and CPI Crisis Prevention Institute) instructor. I've taken TNCC multiple times and also successfully completed ATCN (Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses). Here is some other stuff I've done/currently doing:
-triage nurse
-trauma nurse
-emergency department charge nurse
-Disaster preparedness committee member
-customer service committee chairman (past)
-new nurse graduate hiring committee
-preceptor of new staff
-Clinical Nurse III
- blah blah blah
Oh ya, and I manage my own business teaching ENPC in SoCal; San Diego ENPC.
My reason for going on about myself is to gain some trust with you. I am a guy who likes to get involved and improve the care of our patients/families (and staff satisfaction) and have fun doing it. I like what is simple and works.
"Learn it, understand it, immediately do it and see results."
Let me add some value to the awesome job you are already doing. I mean, let's face it, if you are searching out an expert you are already committed to being the best you can be.
Thanks,
Frank
