Always market high quality products / services that you would be happy to purchase / use yourself & you're excited to share with other people. If you wouldn't feel fantastic about sharing it with your best friend, you shouldn't be promoting it.

Keep your skills updated and current. Online marketing changes often and being able to spot trends ahead of the curve can put you in a great position.
