Dan is an old friend from high school who recently got in touch with me about a political outreach event I was organizing, in which a group of us traveled to Nevada during the weeks leading up to the 2012 Presidential election to improve turnout among Barack Obama supporters.

Though he had the least direct political experience of anyone in our group, he was twice to three times as effective at collecting signed supporter cards than our other supporters. He worked more quickly, and over the course of the first weekend, continued to hone his message to best tailor it to the supporters and generate results.
