Founder and executive in multiple startups. Producer and host of Debugging Diversity docuseries. Mentor, coder and diversity champion.
Less than 24% of software engineers are women - even fewer are women of colour. As the host and producer of forthcoming docuseries, Debugging Diversity, I have spent the past 6 years learning why diverse teams matter and how to build and support diversity in the tech industry.
In my previous role at Expert360 I drove policy, recruiting and cultural initiatives that helped us grow to over 35% female participation in engineering (including several women in technology leadership). I was also awarded the Male Championing Change award for 2020 and speak regularly on the topic.
I can help you with strategies for improving diversity, inclusion and female retention at your company, as well as how to have challenging conversations with folks that may not yet "get it". This might be in the form of a group session with your team or stakeholders, or 1-on-1.
Leading technology teams can be tough - especially when upper management aren't technologists themselves. If you're a current or aspiring engineering manager or tech lead I'd love work with you. I bring with me over 20 years of engineering leadership experience and success stories - and lots of war stories, too!
Things that I can help with: hiring and recruiting, team engagement and retention, managing "up" and setting expecations with leadership, managing tech debt and how to sell it to the boss, working with product and design, estimation and so on.
