Chris designed my logo and business card for my business New Leaf Digital (newleafdigital.com). His process was superb: he asked for my initial ideas, in particular the values and motivations behind starting my business. He produced a slew of early draft concepts, I told him which ideas I liked better than others and why, and the designs evolved iteratively until he had come up with something perfect. He did all the design but his process made it feel like a collaboration.

After struggling with other web developers for some time, I called Chris about developing a site in Wordpress for me without any prior knowledge of his work. In fact I made the call after reading his ad on Craigslist.
I was initially impressed that Chris was willing to meet and discuss the project outside business hours due to an already busy schedule. Although I had difficulty articulating exactly what I was trying to accomplish, he was a patient listener and left with a good understanding of what he could do. He proceeded to get the project done within the short time frame I required, maintaining regular communication throughout. Ultimately producing quality work in a short time and at a reasonable cost. Chris differentiated himself from many others by doing this. He didn't force me to do the work for him by continually asking more complex questions, or trying to change my opinion of what I wanted. He understood that simplicity was the key, and he delivered just that.
After the site was completed, we then sat down and Chris gave me a tutorial on how to use the Wordpress dashboard and the key features that I needed to understand in order to maintain the site on my own. He was a very effective communicator and teacher, and again very patient. Chris really offers a rare combination of technical and interpersonal skills that make him a great asset to my company, and a pleasure to work with. I would recommend him without hesitation for this kind of project.
