Ashish has 27 years of experience in strategic planning and design across businesses. The unique feature within his skill set is the ability to innovate over a wide range, from small-scale (a new product within R&D) to the design of large systems across the verticals of energy, defence, infrastructure, banking etc.
Two recent examples of Turnaround/Re-imagination assignments executed by him are :
1. Turnaround of a Biotech project where investors had lost US $ 225 Million
2. Re-imagination of a Port project (where investors had lost money), as a Naval base
In both of these, his ideas formed the ”pivotal concept" around which a turnaround strategy could be executed.
As a financial innovator, his work on large scale Urban Equity Withdrawal (UEW) based financing has been presented at the Asian Development Bank and on TEDx. In 2018 he launched the "Construct India Mission" which was announced in the 2020 budget as the Govt. of India's National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) plan.
In 2014, Ashish designed the Defence Industrial Corridor project which received an investment commitment of Rs 40,000 crores from the Govt. of India, in the 2018 Union budget.
Corporate Leadership Roles : Ashish has been the convener of an International Advisory Board with Harvard economists, former G–7 finance ministers, foreign ambassadors and defence analysts as members.
He has worked in diverse roles over the last 27 years. He started his career as a project engineer working in a large petrochemicals complex and then moved on to business and senior management positions on assignments involving power plants, ports, LNG terminals, oil refineries and pipelines.
He has also been an energy derivatives trader for five years where he has traded crude oil and petroleum product derivatives on all major commodity exchanges and with nearly all the large investment banks.
In his most recent role as a technology leader, he has been responsible for technology strategy at a Fortune 500 company. In this role he has helped turnaround projects that were losing money.
