I worked with Andy at Made.com and was always very impressed by his breadth of knowledge on both technical and management topics - this made him a great resource for exploring how to build new capabilities for the team and business.
Source: LinkedIn Chris Chin-A-Loy Dec 2, 2014Andy is an excellent manager and has always been able to find the delicate balance between business objectives, resources, and technology. He has been instrumental in the success of Made.com, not only facilitating the building of all the technology systems driving Made.com, but also instigating improvements in business processes, communications, and culture.
Source: LinkedIn private private Dec 2, 2014I worked very closely with Andy when he was CTO of moveme and enjoyed working with him very much. Key elements of his success were building the technical team, working in an agile and responsive way and being passionate about delivering value. Partnerships and commercial implementations were something we worked a lot on, and had great success with.
Andy is skilled and experienced in agile methodologies, stakeholder management and startup team building. He is a creative and critical thinker, but most importantly is passionate about building products and creating great experiences
Source: LinkedIn Patrick O'Malley Dec 2, 2014Andy is a logically, smart CTO who has that intelligent and technical quality in the development arena. He has the ability to culminate his development/programming skills alongside any online business objectives.
It was a pleasure working with Andy and I’m sure his other peers would agree.
Developed a startup with Andy, he's knowledgable from product to back-end and very enjoyable to work with.
Source: LinkedIn Xander Mahony Dec 2, 2014Andy and I were involved in an early-stage social network startup in the wedding space in 2009 along with another entrepreneur. Andy implemented a technical plan for the first version of the product using agile practices, sourced relevant suppliers and executed part of the build himself. He was also closely involved in other business discussions and the design of the product itself. He is a talented critical thinker with business acumen, and a great addition to any early stage company.
Source: LinkedIn Lea Bajc Dec 2, 2014Working with Andy at Made.com, I found him to be a great manager and CTO. He combines strong technical knowledge and attention to detail with a friendly manner that really helped the team deliver projects and features on spec and on time. It's clear that Made.com's rapid growth has been due in no small part to his organisation of both the technical infrastructure and also the teams that he has built. Highly recommended.
Source: LinkedIn Grant Ozolins Dec 2, 2014Andy has been instrumental in the launch and development of Made.com from its debut three years ago. He recruited a fantastic team of developers with the passion and expertise that the business needed.
Andy's hard work and strict focus has enable us to grow fast while also providing with a stable platform and the complex integrated services that Made required.
Worked with Andy on an enterprise consumer project, backed by content in 60+ territories and 40 languages; the execution was time sensitive and based on a global sporting event; there was a need to develop within a restrictive third-party frameworks; security requirements were instrumental due to a seven figure sterling prize fund. Andy was pivotal in the success of the project and as the lead developer performed during periods of extreme stress and demanding project requirements. I saw the whites of his eyes and there was no blinking, or a vacant thousand yard stare – he continued to produce quality code under difficult conditions and ship bug-free product within the deadline. Blessed with a good sense of humour, creative streak and curiosity for emerging technology and best practice, Andy is an asset to any company or project.
