Lean Startup and Entrepreneurship Development

More than 15 years experience in business. Co-founded franchise company known as 1901 Hot Dogs which started in Malaysia. 1901 Hot Dogs grew to 120 outlets in several countries. Now Founder and CEO of FlashJobs, a startup focusing on job matching between employers and jobseekers. Particularly those low-skilled job positions like Retail Assistants, Fast Food Workers, temporary positions, clerk, kitchen helpers, and others.

Also attached with University Putra Malaysia as CEO of Commercialisation. Involve in technology transfer for UPM researched technologies. Another role within UPM is to mentor, coach and administer UPM InnoHub Market Validation Center. InnoHub uses Lean Startup principles rigorously for UPM spin-off companies.

I have a framework & method how to validate any ideas using 3 Stages of Lean Startup. I can also advise on the pros and cons of being an entrepreneur.

Ahmad Zakir is very focus and dedicated in bringing UPM research products to be taken up commercially by the industries. Based on his previous entrepreneurial experience, he plays a role as bridge to narrow the gap between university laboratory research and the industry. As a co-founder of a startup company, I owe him a lot as a mentor. He never fails to inspire me to keep on learning in becoming a better technoentrepeneur from time to time. I am very lucky to have him not just as a mentor, but as a friend and living role model that I can always rely on.

A. Zakir is a very dedicated individual which is fully passionate about his work under the Putra Science Park Commercialization Center in Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) . He takes every responsibility entrusted upon him seriously and makes sure we never lost sight of our track to achieve our commercialization goal. He really takes care and make sure we have a fair share of ownership in equity and say as an inventor of our product. Thus we never feel left out. He cares for the well being of all our members in the team. That makes us feel safe, secured and willing to work to achieve our goals. Personally, I have been striving to make my research a community benefit to the society at large and a financial profit to our country, UPM and to myself, with A. En Zakir is a down to earth personality, easy going boss and very flexible. He is more like a friend and guide and coaches you in every angle. I still remember the day he bought for me a book on programming and ask me to learn by knowing that i'm a newbie in that programming language. That really impresses me!

I worked with Zakir on an E-Gov consultancy project.
I found him to be very detailed, responsible and ethical person. He takes his work seriously, hardworking and yet having a pleasant personality.
It was a pleasure to see him getting his hands into the nitty gritty details of the projects and yet keeping a strong grip on strategic objectives of the projects. I find him to be a good leader.
