Clinical Infectious Disease Specialist, also: Pharmacist, Antimicrobial Stewardship Coordinator, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, and Expert in Active Learning Strategies.
I have been teaching in higher education for over 7 years. During this time, I have implemented and piloted several active learning strategies for engaging learners (especially millenial learners and generation Z learners). I have had the opportunity to present several of these strategies at the national level, and some have even been formally published. I would be happy to share some of my strategies and experiences with whoever might be interested.
I have been a practicing clinical specialist in infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship for 5 years. I have received formal certification in this area through the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists. I have also trained in the first institution to be recognized by the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) as a Center of Excellence in Antimicrobial Stewardship.
I have been involved with all of the major aspects of antimicrobial stewardship including prospective audits, clinical pathway development, and formulary decisions. In addition, I have also successfully seen my hospital through several accreditation visits where antimicrobial stewardship was a focus.
