I have known and worked with Will for many years and I am still impressed with his talents. He creates elegant solutions to complex problems. He organizes projects with intelligence and assigns the most capable persons to project tasks. He understands the detailed design of complex systems and conveys that knowledge clearly to staff, upper management, partners, customers and staff. He understands technology and how it fits with BrightPlanet technology. He is an evangelist for BrightPlanet technology in pre-sales support meetings and meetings with partners and customers. He has an easy going, laid back manner. He cares about his co-workers. The bottom line is I would work with Will again in a heart beat.

I first started working with Will in 2001, but worked more closely with him after his relocation to Sioux Falls to take the position of Director of Development of BrightPlanet. Will is unique in his ability to
--visualize a way to write software code to solve a problem
--find pesky bugs and troubleshoot details
--meet customer's demands with a positive attitude
--AND mentor and manage staff in a proactive way.
His abilty to multi-task is incredible. Most development people I've known don't do well with hundreds of interruptions per day. I'm most impressed with Will's intelligence and "can-do" attititude. It's a powerful combination.

Will has a natural talent for software development. He is quick to apprehend new ideas, and can apply them in a streamlined fashion. He has a true knack for simplifying abstract, complex problems, and designing concrete implementations based on a straightforward model.

Will also has adapted his skills to management as well. He succeeded in understanding technical issues in sufficient detail to guide the design, programming, deployment and administration of sophisticated software systems. He has also become involved in much of the business side of software production, in everything from investor, customer and client relations to accounting, finance and personnel. Transitioning from development to management often proves to be too much for most software engineers, but not for Will.
