I help leaders turn adversity into bench strength.
Difficult people, performance problems, organizational dysfunction, culture issues, crises, and high-stakes decisions can either weaken a team or make it considerably stronger. My strength is helping leaders create the second outcome.
A big part of that is understanding that empathy is not the opposite of accountability. Used well, it is one of the tools that makes accountability more effective. Leaders who understand what is driving people can communicate more clearly, intervene earlier, build trust faster, retain stronger talent, and make better decisions under pressure.
I help leaders separate empathy from avoidance, kindness from permissiveness, and compassion from lowered standards. The goal is not to make leadership softer. It is to make it more precise, more human, and ultimately more effective.
My experience spans utility operations, regulatory environments, emergency response, public-sector leadership, organizational challenges, and nearly a decade in elected office. I have spent much of my career working in environments where the problems are messy, the stakes are real, and the people involved are carrying more than what is visible on the surface.
Bring me the situation you are struggling with. We will get underneath the noise, identify what is actually happening, understand the people and organizational dynamics at play, assess your options and risks, and develop a practical way forward.
The goal is not simply to survive the immediate problem. It is to make sure you and your organization come out of it stronger… with better judgment, stronger leaders, healthier teams, clearer systems, greater resilience, and more capable people.
Adversity is expensive. I help leaders make sure they get something valuable in return.
