I am a disruptive innovation enthusiast, writer, speaker and entrepreneur, having worked for a global accounting and management consulting firm, Australia's largest investment bank and both built and advised early stage businesses and start-ups.
Most recently, I co-founded Collective Campus in early 2015, Melbourne's first enterprise innovation school. I identified the opportunity through enquiries I had received at my previous startup, Hotdesk, from corporates wanting to work closer with startups.
Hotdesk grew to over 1,000 locations across Asia Pacific, secured investment, gained national exposure in the Australian Financial Review, Yahoo Finance and The Australian and was featured by Microsoft as an example of Australian innovation.
Prior to this, I developed skills and competencies in the risk management space with the global diversified financial services company Macquarie Group where I gained exposure to equity and debt capital markets, commodities, funds management and retail banking and developed a fundamental understanding of the capital and derivative pricing models underpinning the group's regulatory compliance activities.
I had moved to Macquarie from Ernst & Young's Advisory consulting practice in Melbourne where I developed strengths in the controls transformation, business process re-engineering and both the internal and external audit space. There, I delivered outcomes for top ASX-listed clients across the resources, telecommunications, technology, power and utilities industries as well as several NYSE and NASDAQ-listed clients.
My passion is in the space of both disruptive and sustaining innovation while I am a strong advocate and practitioner of agile project management and lean startup. I believe that customer discovery and doing by learning is the best way to build solutions to real problems.
I enjoy writing opinion pieces on this very topic from the perspective of not just startups, but of SMEs and large corporations as well.
