Have worked as a Registered Nurse for 20 years starting my career in Med-Surg. I wanted to specialize so became a labor and delivery nurse and continued in this area for 10 years. Before having a family, we decided to give travel nursing a try and worked rural/remote. Had a great time and dipped my toes working Public Health while I was abroad. Kept working Public health for 7 years and that led me to my career in Nursing informatics for Public Health. So today I help educate nurses and staff to use their documentation system. I also advocate system changes to maintain nursing documentation standards and reduce workflow gaps.
