SM$2/min per minute(5)Freelancing Tips: Make REAL Money With Upwork, LinkedIn, Networking, and More!Stephanie Mojica • Los AngelesCreated 7 years ago in Skills & Management / EntrepreneurshipLike freelancing (or the idea of it) but are tired of low-paying gigs, no gigs, or feeling overwhelmed? Whether you're freelancing as a coach, writer, editor, proofreader, transcriptionist, translator, or tutor — I've been in your exact shoes while freelancing —and I can help you make real money freelancing in less time. Whether you want to: * Get started freelancing on sites like Upwork or increase your freelancing opportunities on there * Try freelancing on other sites such as Guru or PeoplePerHour (or increase your existing freelancing revenue) * Use social media marketing on sites like LinkedIn or Facebook to make more money freelancing — without buying freelancing ads or becoming a social media marketing pariah * Learn the art and science of asking past employers, friends, co-workers, clients, fellow church members, etc. for freelancing referrals (or direct freelancing gigs) I can help you with anything to do with freelancing. I'm not a freelancing business coach who talks a lot of game but can't back it up with freelancing social proof. Just ONE example: in the last three years, I've earned over $50,000 freelancing on Upwork on a very part-time basis. I am in the top 1% of rankings and financial earnings in Upwork's freelancing pool. (The proof is in the photo.) I have the #1 U.S. spelling test score on the entire freelancing site - and have had it for years (as far back as when they were freelancing on oDesk). Also, my LinkedIn freelancing profile is so impressive and professionally done with SEO keywords etc. I had a past client find me through Googling for Lexington, Kentucky copywriters. That company paid me $1,250 for two freelancing projects that took me a few hours to complete. The only reason the generous flow of freelancing work stopped is my contact went on maternity leave and ended up leaving the organization. I was too busy with my coaching and teaching practice to try to start a freelancing relationship over with a new person. Enough about my experience freelancing, though. Let's get to starting or expanding your freelancing opportunities right now. As your freelancing business coach, you will leave EVERY call (even 15-30 minute ones) with simple and actionable steps toward making more money freelancing. What are you waiting for? Don't waste precious hours trying to figure freelancing out yourself. Invest a little money and time (I can help you amp up your freelancing even in a 15-minute call) and become a freelancing success story!Stephanie Mojica Los Angeles(5)

Stephanie is very insightful and helpful! I will definitely use her services again! Thank you!
Source: Clarity Jamaal Hamblin Feb 21, 2022Stephanie is professional and likable. She listens very well and has an uncommon ability to tap in to and understand the vision of another. Once there, she works within it producing trust and comfort in the partnership. However, if her experience and talent is prompting her to a different opinion, she presents it with grace and respect. I can highly recommend Stephanie for her professional services listed here.
Source: Clarity Andrew Wilkinson Mar 27, 2018I had a great call with Stephanie. After speaking with her, my confidence in my abilities speaking in front of elected officials and other members of the public in televised government meetings has increased significantly. She gave me tips that I will be able to start using immediately. I highly recommend her to others needing help with public speaking, preparing for television appearances and other related topics. Thanks again!

On your resume, you can always put self-employed to discuss your "gap" in employment. Here's an example from mine:
Writing/editing coach currently Lexington, KY
Self-employed 1997-present
Guide people through the process of becoming successful freelance writers and editors.
Led one client through the entire process of writing and self-publishing his book, “The Blessings of My Storms,” which has become successful in Kentucky and beyond.
I have been successful in both self-employment and the traditional workplace as well as explaining gaps in traditional employment on my resume, in my cover letter, and during interviews.
We can chat on a brief call to discuss your situation further.
Good luck!
Stephanie

ALWAYS focus on their needs. Use a lot of "you" centered language.
Depending on your line of business, offering a free gift such as a webinar, an eBook, a complimentary 15-minute consultation (add a limiter such as for five people — this creates urgency and doesn't make you look desperate for business), etc. works wonders.
I have completed in-person training with some of the seven-figure email marketers that provide true value while making money. I would be happy to get on a call with you to pinpoint your needs.
Best,
Stephanie

As someone who has been on both ends (consulting/coaching clients and having coaching/consulting myself), I can tell you a couple of things.
1) Don't be afraid to "shop around." I'm not even talking about the best financial deal. Try a few folks on Clarity for short calls (10-30 minutes). It doesn't matter if the consultant/coach is the best around - if your personalities don't mesh well, you'll have a hard time putting his or her suggestions into action.
2) Thus, don't sign long contracts until you've had at least one call with a person. I like Clarity because you have the option to use someone repeatedly, once in a while, etc. A GOOD consultant/coach will keep highly confidential records and will remember who you are even if it's been a while.
3) Don't necessarily judge a consultant/coach by price. Some of the most expensive ones anywhere are more hype than action, and some of the cheapest ones I've hired have given me thousands of dollars of value in a call or two.
By the way, I have years of experience editing and writing for print real estate magazines such as Realty411. My publisher/editor is a very successful entrepreneur with multiple streams of real estate income. I regularly interview similar people. Please reach out - even if you decide to hire another coach/consultant, I can probably help you get some print publicity since your industry is one I've been involved with for years.
Good luck and do feel free to reach out anytime.
Stephanie

Hi, what kind of marketplace do you want to create? That would help us give you a better answer.
If you're selling products for the first time, you probably want to try eBay and/or Amazon before going into the time, money, and effort to create an online marketplace.
If you're selling services for the first time, you probably want to try Upwork, Guru, PeoplePerHour, Clarity, etc. before starting your own marketplace.
Also, a lot of experts are having success creating online courses on Udemy — but it's an art and science. I'm working on this myself and with my clients.
I would love to talk with you for even 10-15 minutes to help you get clear on your goals. I've been helping people like you for over 20 years and they get results — but we would need to target your specific situation.
Best wishes and I hope you book a call for personalized advice soon!
Stephanie

Hello,
Some states have lower tax or no taxes. Nevada is a popular place for people to incorporate.
Keep in mind while I know a LOT about the law (having worked in journalism and as a coach/consultant for over 20 years) I am not a lawyer.
However, I can help walk you through some processes of forming your business — such as deciding your strategies in many areas (like marketing) and getting free publicity.
I would love to help you further, so I hope you'll book a short follow-up call soon.
Best wishes,
Stephanie

Hi, I'm Stephanie and I've helped people like you for over two decades.
ALWAYS register, trademark, copyright, etc. your brand as well as your real full name.
One of the clients I worked with literally became famous overnight after a national TV appearance, and someone dishonest had bought her real name on .biz etc. domains as well as a name similar to her business.
I can walk you through the steps you can take to ensure your brand stays YOUR brand without spending a ton of time or money - and also ways to help you succeed.
I would love to help you more with this soon, so please consider booking a follow-up call.
Best wishes,
Stephanie

I have worked with people through this as a business strategist and coach, and it depends on how well connected you are. Do you have a large following in person and/or via social networks - especially LinkedIn and/or Facebook?
I would recommend creating at least a PowerPoint presentation about your project, including market research about the demand for it. A business plan is also essential.
I've written and edited hundreds of business plans and pitch presentations over the last few years and have 20+ years high-level media experience. Getting one newspaper or TV reporter on board with your idea could be your personal angel investor, so to speak.
I'd love to help you in a short call. You would leave with four solid ideas, depending on your needs, to get investors for your social network project idea. It sounds fascinating, and I hope to help you make your dream come true soon!
Best wishes,
Stephanie
