technologist; problem solver; team builder; editor; business and finance journalist; blogger. I live at the intersection of finance, media and technology.
In 2012 I joined Percolate, a made-in-NYC technology startup, as their 13th employee and first product manager. Over the next 18 months, as the company more than quintupled in size, I defined, developed and implemented our product management strategy.
My experience in public speaking starts in what we in the Caribbean call "primary school" - I was entering and winning public speaking competitions from early childhood. Since then, I've moderated dozens of panels, delivered keynotes and presentations around the world, and most recently spoke at TEDxPortofSpain.
Stacy and I were both Tow-Knight fellows on CUNY's 2012 entrepreneurial journalism program. She was immensely helpful to her classmates throughout the program, and offered to give classes in her own areas of expertise, such as public speaking, for those of us who were new to that arena. Her considerable analytical skills and calm assessments were very helpful in improving my ability to speak in front of an audience and actually enjoy it.
FT Alphaville was a great product, providing timely, informative and to-the point commentary on financial markets. Alphaville live was always a great source of information and really held it's own during the financial crisis as a source of information!
