My career at Thrivent started back in 2010, right out of college. Two weeks after graduation, I moved out to Ann Arbor, MI to work in the back office of my uncles financial planning practice. After getting licensed in the business and a short stint as a pre-ipo sales rep for a small start-up called GrubHub, I decided to give the financial planning career a try from an entrepreneur standpoint rather than an employee. I had the opportunity to build a practice as a solo-advisor and got myself involved in a number of online marketing activities to promote myself and my practice. It all started with a blog at SimonGranner.com, followed shortly by an audio and video podcast where I interviewed successful entrepreneurs around the world.
Towards the middle of 2016 I decided to merge my solo financial practice with a long time friend of mine Eric Himmel, who is now my business partner. We co-lead a small but growing practice called Third Coast Group of Thrivent Financial. We have 2 offices, 4 associates and a full time Client Services Coordinator.
We help people everyday be wise with money, live generously and fulfill the promises they have made to their loved ones.
On a personal level, I have lived downtown Chicago for the last 7 years with my wife and 17 month old baby girl with another one on the way. I enjoy, spending time with family and friends, any adventure sport, playing guitar and trying to golf.
