Great guy - super helpful

Shawn's passion for Troops to Transportation & Logistics inspired me to get involved as a corporate sponsor of MSCCN-CASY and to volunteer my time to T2T&L. He knows firsthand that one of the largest issues facing the industry is the availability, recruitment and training of a capable workforce and rather than remain idle, he has personally challenged himself as well as those around him to meet the obstacle by matching the personnel need with America's greatest workforce, our Military veterans. The choice to get involved was an easy one after talking with Shawn. We cannot reasonably expect or allow government agencies to handle this challenge on their own, it takes a public-private partnership along with the support of strong non-profits like Military Spouse Corporate Career Network and Corporate America Supports You. Far too many of our veterans are returning from active duty without viable options for civilian employment, lets join Shawn in honoring the sacrifice of our hero's service by assisting them in job placement. Everyone wins.

Shawn is always thinking outside of the box, for all parties involved, to succeed. He is goal-oriented and gets the job done. He taught me how to succeed in the transportation industry, and how to set/accomplish goals for myself whether in my daily personal life or daily job duties. If you ever need motivation for something, Shawn is the guy to motivate! He is able to adapt to any situation, and if he can't do it, he has the resources to get it done.

I have had the pleasure of working with Shawn Leonard over the last year. As Sr. Advisor to Corporate America Supports You (CASY) Troops to Transportation and Logistics Campaign (T2TL), Shawn serves as an Ambassador for our service members, veterans, and their families as he works to educate companies of all sizes on how they can support our military and veteran job seekers while strengthening their company and meeting hiring needs. Shawn is very strong in his message that military-affiliated job seekers are an asset to any company – they are highly skilled and trained individuals with a work ethic second to none, and they most often times not only meet but exceed the company’s mission and objectives.
In addition Shawn leads the efforts of our Military-to-Civilian Jobs Network Alliance which works with military and corporations to identify and overcome hiring obstacles employers face in hiring military and veterans. On the corporate side Shawn works to expand employment opportunities for those within the military and veteran communities.
He is dedicated and determined in this mission, and because of his ambassadorship and hard work thousands of active duty, Reserves, and National Guard are returning from combat overseas to civilian employment as they transition out of active duty.
Shawn gets things done; he sees beyond the obvious to the bigger picture and views obstacles as a challenge to overcome instead of a stopping point. He makes things happen for the good of others – there are few like him out there in the world and we are lucky to have his support and assistance as we work to expand employment opportunities for all service members (both those still serving and veterans), overcome hiring obstacles, provide gap skills training needed, and facilitate placement. I'm the Military Liaison with Swift transportation and shortly after my arrival in my new position I answered a voice mail from Shawn. Many organizations claim to help or support our veterans, however to say the least they come up very short. After researching the website that Shawn left on my voice mail I knew the organization Corporate America Supports You (C.A.S.Y) and Troops to Transportation and Logistics (T2TL) had taped into an important link in helping Veterans, the transition offices for active duty personnel. CASY is the only non-profit organization that has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with all services to include the National Guard. Finally, someone who has realized that the information veterans need to be able to go back to their hometown is key prior to them leaving the service! This is what CASY does for our veterans.
Although Shawn isn't a veteran, his commitment to our veterans is impressive. To see a civilian dedicate his time and own company money to further support CASY & T2TL is commendable and I have personally been impressed with Shawn's personal commitment. I'm proud to have Shawn as a partner and would recommend him for any endeavor your company is considering.
