Have you always dreamed of writing a novel, or just writing at all? Do you want to create better characters and more compelling plots?
How about keeping a daily writing habit?
Let me be your writing coach. I’m an editor of 10 years with an MFA in fiction and three years spent teaching creative writing to college students.
I operate by the Hippocratic Oath to do no harm, and you’re probably thinking: “Shavonne, isn’t that usually the realm of physicians?” Which is true, but I’d argue it applies to just about any profession that involves the delicate work of helping people.
Your writing is often the truest and most vulnerable representation of who you are, and it deserves care and respect. That’s why, if we work together, you’ll receive suggestions instead of fixes. You’ll receive praise for what’s working well, and recommendations for how to improve what isn’t working so well. Above all, I’ll seek to preserve your unique voice and do no harm.
I love what I do, and I’ve had the great fortune to work with new and experienced writers of just about every genre, from science fiction to fantasy to action to romance.
